Omnia Ali began by discussing her experience during her college years and how that enabled her to find her passion, graphic design. After majoring in Engineering for two years, she felt like she wanted to change her path. In her quest for knowledge and her discovery of graphic design, she faced financial and language barriers. She was then able to overcome them and was able to open a Facebook Page titled “Design in Arabic,” which currently has about 12,000 followers, and aims to help those who are starting up in the graphic design industry. She says that it is important that everyone realizes that life is a journey and we all must have a goal or an aim. We must ask ourselves: “Is this what we really want to do?” She instilled the audience with hope, showing that we must take control of our lives and disregard fear and any form of criticism in order to become successful and satisfied with our careers, enabling us to have a positive impact on our community.
